What? Theravine muscle release treatment (Full Body Exfoliation, Hydrotheraphy Bath, Body Wrap & Full Body Massage). A while ago, I was in desperate need of some me time, so I decided to book myself in for some R&R at the Fancourt spa. I chose this treatment purely because of the relaxation & tension release element. However, the spa offers an extensive range of amazing skin & body treatments – check out the full list over here.
What makes it so fabulous? The entire Fancourt complex is a world class golf & tourist destination, so it feels like a piece of paradise from the moment you set your foot inside the gate. The spa is, naturally, also a very huge treat & focuses on offering a serene environment where guests can de-stress & relax.
The two hours of pampering that I had felt much longer, because you can enjoy the complimentary facilities after your treatment(s). These are: a Roman Bath & jacuzzi, sauna, steam room & tepidarium.
What to expect… Really professional service, with a touch of good ‘ol Garden Route charm. The waiting area – where delicious herbal teas, water & fruit is served – looks out onto this golfing paradise. With 11 treatment rooms (including a couple’s private treatment room), a hydro therapy room & shower room, there is plenty of space to relax & recharge.
This spa is for you, if you… have another half that plays loads of golf & you need some time to yourself too. Or, if you are a golfer yourself, you’ll also find total relaxation here!
What I didn’t enjoy… Sadly, the local staff & mentality can be a bit unrefined. So, as I was taking my shower & blow dried my hair, the dear cleaning lady decided that she also had to clean in the exact (!) spot where I was trying to get dressed. I found it a bit strange that she was not be sensitive enough to give a spa guest a few minutes of privacy!
This treatment is for those who… Are after a ‘real deal’ spa: no frills, professional, fantastic treatments in a magnificent setting. Expect an environment of tranquillity, wellness & rejuvenation.
The final verdict: Fancourt Spa is certainly worth a visit, but try to make it an off season visit, so that you can really relax & enjoy Fancourt spa & surroundings.
Mmm… I’m already dreaming of my next Fancourt spa day! Hope I see you there.
