I am totally obsessed with lobsters at the moment! I even wore my lobster shirt & custom made some lobster Xmas baubles with my CriCut machine for these pictures. 🤪

If you also think they’re amazing (Christmas) décor, then you should really get your hands on the Crayfish Cracker Collection from @iamcrackers . They are just the bomb. 💥 The crackers are made from recycled paper, plus the gifts inside are curated, fun & actually usable (like key rings, tape measures, coffee scoops, luggage tags). Did I mention that you can also have them personalised with the names of your guests? 😍😍😍

After a really difficult October, I'm focussing on the fun & beautiful things around... Let's face it: death & loss will knock you down proper. One day at a time.

Here are (some of) my favourite things of November:

🍬🎄 Festivities hosted by my wonderful friends plus my favourite dress from @me_and__b (pic: @mialelong )

🌞 Mornings & calm evenings in Johannesburg. Priceless.

🏊‍♀️ Turns out that being a swim mom means many hours - even days - by the pool. It also means you have to (try your best to) take action shots. Can you tell that I nailed it? 🙈

😎 Surviving Gr 5 (exams) + awards season. 🙏🏻

🥩 This month I continued to cook & test. Rinse & repeat. We had an especially amazing time at the @beefandlambsa food styling & photography workshop.

🌺 Peony season = my favourite.

Here are 4 things I loved eating in New York on my brief visit this Fall: 🍁🍂🍁

🎃🍕Starbucks Reserve Roastery's Pumpkin Spiced Latte & Salame Piccante Pizza : Now THIS is what I call a Starbucks
- multi level with a complete alcoholic beverage bar & roastery. They also offee experiences & workshops!
📍61 9th Avenue, New York, NY10011 (Close to the High Line & Chelsea Market)

🥟 Chicken Empanada at Okey Sandwiches & Grill. A little kiosk style set-up inside the food court at City Point shopping centre with a focus on Equadorian Food. Most dishes are more lunch time fare prices at $10 upwards.

I was there at 11am with only a small appetite so I had the Chicken Empanada & fresh herby, garlicky green sauce. Seriously good! 11 out of 10! @okey_nyc
📍 445 Albee Square W, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (Dekalb Market Hall)

🥢 Fried Pork & Chive Dumplings at Oh Dumplings. The service was quick & friendly & the dumpling an 8 out of 10. This little place serves authentic Chinese food & is clearly loved by locals. I'm not a bubble tea drinker, but their bubble tea options looked promising. About $9 for six dumplings.

I'm besotted with this gorgeous little gem: I had the rosemary & sage lemonade @ $6. Delicious but sweet! The sweet treats on display were just perfect. I can totally recommend the seasonal Fall cakes too.

🍌 Magnolia Bakery's Classic Banana Pudding: A New York must have - any time of the year. This is the kind of thing that I can never get enough of! It tastes like the fluffiest vanilla cake (or biscuits) with cream & banana & perhaps a bit of caramel treat. Small tub (single serving): $4.95.
