AUTUMN IN NEW YORK - PART 1 - NYC EATS & TREATS // AUTUMN IN NEW YORK - PART 1 - NYC EATS & TREATS // Here are 4 things I loved eating in New York on my brief visit this Fall: 🍁🍂🍁 🎃🍕Starbucks Reserve Roastery's Pumpkin Spiced Latte & Salame Piccante Pizza : Now THIS is what I call a Starbucks - multi level with a complete alcoholic beverage bar & roastery. They also offee experiences & workshops! 📍61 9th Avenue, New York, NY10011 (Close to the High Line & Chelsea Market) 🥟 Chicken Empanada at Okey Sandwiches & Grill. A little kiosk style set-up inside the food court at City Point shopping centre with a focus on Equadorian Food. Most dishes are more lunch time fare prices at $10 upwards. I was there at 11am with only a small appetite so I had the Chicken Empanada & fresh herby, garlicky green sauce. Seriously good! 11 out of 10! @okey_nyc 📍 445 Albee Square W, Brooklyn, NY 11201 (Dekalb Market Hall) 🥢 Fried Pork & Chive Dumplings at Oh Dumplings. The service was quick & friendly & the dumpling an 8 out of 10. This little place serves authentic Chinese food & is clearly loved by locals. I'm not a bubble tea drinker, but their bubble tea options looked promising. About $9 for six dumplings. 📍 Oh Dumplings, 108 S Oxford St, Brooklyn, NY 11217 🍰 Poppy's: @poppysbrooklyn I'm besotted with this gorgeous little gem: I had the rosemary & sage lemonade @ $6. Delicious but sweet! The sweet treats on display were just perfect. I can totally recommend the seasonal Fall cakes too. 📍 Poppy's , 48 Henry Street, Brooklyn , NY11201 🍌 Magnolia Bakery's Classic Banana Pudding: A New York must have - any time of the year. This is the kind of thing that I can never get enough of! It tastes like the fluffiest vanilla cake (or biscuits) with cream & banana & perhaps a bit of caramel treat. HAKE & CHORIZO BOWL // I’m always looking for ne HAKE & CHORIZO BOWL // I’m always looking for new ways to eat more fish. This spin on the humble hake fillet is mouthwatering & a new favourite in our house! Here is how you make it: Hake and Chorizo Bowl, serves 4 1x Onion, minced 2x Garlic Cloves, minced 2x Tablespoons Olive Oil 1x Chorizo Sausage, chopped into small cubes 70g of Tomato Paste 1 Tablespoon Thyme 1 Tablespoon Oregano 1 Tablespoon Parsley 1x Tin Chopped, Peeled Tomato 1x Tin of Cold Water 250ml Vegetable Stock 4x Fresh Skinless Hake Fillets of 150-200g each To serve: Extra parsley, chopped Fresh Crusty Bread Butter Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan. Gently sauté the onion and garlic over medium heat until translucent. Add the chopped chorizo sausage and turn up the heat slightly. Fry for an additional 2 minutes until the chorizo is cooked. Turn down the heat to low, add the tomato paste and cook until the entire mixture gets a nice deep colour. Add the tinned tomato and stock. Add one tin of cold water, freshly ground pepper and your chopped thyme and oregano. Bring up to a boil, then turn down and cook for 2 minutes. Test the seasoning and add salt if needed. Add in your whole fish fillets and cook for 5-8 minute until the fish is cooked. Check the seasoning and add your parsley. BERLIN NO DIET CLUB FOOD TOUR // A highlight of ou BERLIN NO DIET CLUB FOOD TOUR // A highlight of our trip has been a walking food tour. It was the first time ever that I’ve done a walking guided food tour & it certainly won’t be the last. I made my booking through AirBnB experiences - a simpler booking system doesn’t exist. Our group of 5 tourists plus our lovely guide met in front of the first food stop & embarked on a 3 hour tour… Berlin has a very cosmopolitan food scene - noticeable specifically from the food that we ate. These were our 5 mouth watering stops: 🥐The Sanctuary: vegan Italian pastry store. What is mind blowing is that you can’t tell that all the products are vegan. I have no idea how they create these fluffy pastries without butter, but they do. We had Girelle ( a soft laminated dough filled with pistachio cream). Incredible! 🌭Cult Curry: we had the iconic curry wurst. Apparently the key to looking for the best curry wurst is that it should have sprinkles of curry powder on top. Rihanna even visited Cult Curry once! 🌮El Amigo: An authentic Mexican spot with a beautiful sélection of mexican specialities. Each person on the tour could choose 2x tacos . Minecontr 🥙K’ups: the huge saucy kebab where we indulged in a Döner kebab. Tasty & great value for money. 🍦Jones: eis cream - with flavours like Cucumber & Tonic, Black Sesame or Macha to choose from! Só fun. I had a Mango Passionfruit Sorbet & it was amazing! The group was fun, the guide was lovely & the overall experience was a 10/10! UTRECHT // Take a quick walk through Utrecht, The UTRECHT // Take a quick walk through Utrecht, The Netherlands, with me in 11 seconds! 🇳🇱 Highlights: *Riding a bike - in the rain nogal with Umbrella in hand. *Beautiful shopping mall & shopping street. *Seeing bicycles everywhere. 🚲 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 *The Utrecht Dom & garden - voluntary contribution. *Delicious fresh vegetables & cheese stalls. Dutch cheeses are só só good. 🧀 Special mention to Henry Willig Cheese who has been making amazing cheeses for 50ste already. I love seeing what the seasonal produce looks like in different countries. 🍅 *Søstrene Greene - a store filled to the brim with beautiful & practical things! @sostrenegrene *Sissy-Boy store (not the denim / jean brand that we know); a wonderful aesthetic that reminds me of Poetry / Anthropologie. @sissyboy1982 *The tea store called Paper & Tea with various hot & cold brew teas & wonderful staff members. @paperandtea *Delicious Dutch lunch of Rundvleeskroketten at @restaurantdezakkendrager Utrecht is a delightful town to visit. 🫶🏻 Highly recommend. xo Yolandi 👩🏼‍🌾 #utrechtfood #utrecht

Plus a pink rose Croissant from @pantry_jhb ! 🥰 I used the new Arden cutlery in champagne & the Arcadia dinnerware collection from @maxwellandwilliams_sa to create this spring tablescape.
