Looking for a refreshing, non-alcoholic drink that’s perfect for summer or Dry January? With the temperature soaring past 30°C (over 86 Fahrenheit), this drink is my go-to for cooling down & staying hydrated at the moment.
While this recipe isn’t about real caviar, the lime caviar garnish adds a unique, but if it is not available where you live, then just give it a miss & just use regular limes.
Why It’s Great for Dry January
After the indulgence of the festive season, January is the perfect time to reset with healthier habits. Many people aim to cut down on alcohol & sugar during this time. Abstinence for a period or forever is nothing new & dates back to 1942 when Finland announced a “Sober January” (Raitis tammikuu) as an effort to assist in the war against the Soviet Union.
Today hundreds of thousands of people around the world are cutting out alcohol – in January & even for life. Celebrities have gotten on board & said that it changes their lives. Dry January, a campaign launched in 2013 by Alcohol Change UK, may be one of the most well-known campaigns around the world, but it is not the only one. Dry January encourages people to reduce their alcohol intake for better health & mindfulness. A study by Lancet indicated that alcohol consumption may have gone up by as much as 70% from 1990 to 2017, so this initiative is a great nudge in the right direction. Learn more over here.
Whether you’re observing Dry January or simply looking for a healthier beverage option, this mocktail is an excellent choice. It’s free from added sugar and alcohol, making it a refreshing alternative for any occasion.
