What? Mani’s, pedi’s, waxes, special events (& spray tans)
What makes it so fabulous? For starters, the location is great – only two shops away from Voodoo Lily Cafe in Birdhaven. The interior is fresh & clean, & the owners (mother-daughter duo Lyn & Natalie) are groomed, friendly & professional. Most importantly though: the manicurists know their stuff. Only premium products (like OPI) are used. I’ve also had some good waxes done at Gloss.
What to expect… This is a nail bar, but with way more class! [I haven’t tried the spray tan, but it is said to be fantastic.]
This salon is for you, if you… Like the feeling of a little village shopping centre & are in need of a mani & pedi that is done well.
Gloss also offers all kinds of ‘Sparties’ for special celebrations – complete with catering, flowers & goody bags… I have personally given this a try & it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. It is a really affordable way of treating your favourite girl for a bit of pampering. Natalie was so accommodating & was happy for me to bring my own snacks, but assist with the set-up.
What I didn’t enjoy… You can have a massage done here, but I wouldn’t recommend it as the nr 1 place around for a great massage.
This salon is for those who… don’t like the look, smell & mostly the feeling of sitting in a nail bar in your local shopping centre where everyone can stare at your through the window. This is a private, classy nail bar.
The final verdict: Gloss is worth a visit. I’ve had mani’s & pedi’s done here that have lasted & lasted & lasted… Need I say more?
