The Dead Sea is fascinating. A real mystery. A paradox.

Firstly it isn’t an actual sea. It is a land-locked salt lake with banks that are over 400m below sea level. The hypersaline water has been evaporating for many many years which lead to rock salt formations & pillars. And you might have guessed that you won’t find any fish in the Dead Sea either.

Yet the Dead Sea is the ultimate source of well-being. It is also a carefree spot where you can float weightlessly & forget about your sorrows.  The ancient mineral-enriched salts & rich black mud from the Dead Sea contain magnesium, bromide, sodium, zinc, calcium, potassium, iodine & sulphur, which is why it has so many wellbeing & cosmetic benefits.

Without boring you with too much info, here are 3 things to note about the New Mineraline:

1. It is the real deal

Mineraline is produced in a factory in Jerusalem only 30min from the Dead Sea. Unlike many ranges, Mineraline contains a high level of active ingredients, it is enriched with Dead Sea minerals in a very high concentration.

Studies have found Dead Sea minerals to have unbelievable benefits, including that:

  • Dead Sea minerals increase skin cell renewal & mitochondrial activity within the cells
  • It is anti-ageing & limits cell damage after UVB exposure
  • Bathing in a magnesium-rich Dead Sea salt solution improves skin barrier function, boosts skin hydration & reduces inflammation in dry skin
  • Dead sea mud has anti-microbial effects on acne-causing bacteria
  • Dead Sea waters (used in Balneotherapy) eases arthritis & inflammatory pain such as tender joints & inflammatory back pain

2. The new packaging is stunning

After the range was acquired by new owners two years ago, the brand got a proper facelift. If you remember the previous round of packaging, then you’ll agree that this is a very welcome change.

Each specific line is cleverly colour coded, making it super easy for clients to understand. The range is extensive, so you will certainly find something that you love & that addresses your specific skin care concern.

  • The general skin care range includes five different cleansers (gels, washes & a milk)
  • I love Mud Masks & this range has three different ones
  • Rejuvenating products include Antioxidant Vitaserum, Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream plus day & night creams
  • The Mineraline specialist solutions comprises the luxurious Time It! Anti-aging range, a soothing range with Aloe Vera & the Clarify range for acne-prone skin
  • My skin is having a teenager moment, so I’m specifically using & loving Home Spa range with body, hand & feet products at the moment.

The company is focussed on the environment too, so packaging is kept to only the necessary.

3. It is affordable

The truth is, times are tough, so event cent saved helps, right? Expect to pay between R80 & R250 per product in the Mineraline range. Great value for money! Mineraline is available at Dis-Chem Pharmacies countrywide. Also check them out on Facebook or Instagram.

6 Comments on It’s here: the new, better, prettier Mineraline range

  1. I used to buy the Mineraline after shave for men at Dischem – they don’t stock it anymore.
Woould you know if it is available somewhere?

    Would appreciate your reply
    Thanks

    • Hi Shamla. Please head on over to your closest Dis-Chem to see if any of the Mineraline products have sun protection in it. My personal opinion is that sunscreen as part of another product (ie moisturiser with sunscreen in) does not provide sufficient sun protection on its own. I always wear a separate sunscreen over or under my other products. Yolandi

    • Hi there Tanya. Mineraline is available at Dis-Chem, so if you are in South Africa you can visit your nearest store to find out more about whether or not the range is cruelty-free or not. According to their Instagram page Mineraline is cruelty-free, paraben-free & vegan.
