Father’s Day is only two sleeps away & considering that there are 1.5 billion dads in the world, it’s great to know that research* shows that modern day dads contribute much more actively as parents than before. It is especially those millennial dads** that are playing such an important part in the upbringing of their kids.

So, I think it’s fitting to celebrate father figures or other male hero’s & role models by doing something special or giving a little something to say ‘i love you’.
This year Oliver & I are letting dad out for Father’s Day to play golf with his bestie. Clever, hey? If you are still stuck for gift ideas & you can’t send him off with his best mate, then look no further.
HERE’S MY SHORT LIST OF LAST MINUTE FATHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS – FOR EVERY BUDGET:
Free (yes, mahala!): A handmade card. Print a picture, paint, draw, stick, copy or write a card. It’s easy & fun & will be treasured. You can find loads of inspiration on Pinterest. I really love these two ideas…
Under R50: A fun / weird / classy luggage tag. Really handy for those globe trotting dads. You should find some at Typo.
Under R80: Lipidol After Shave Oil (R79,95 at Clicks stores nationwide) won’t dry the skin out as it supplements the natural oily layer which means that it helps to eliminate a nasty post-shave rash. It also won’t burn or itch & smells fresh & manly, but not overwhelming.
Under R100: Socks. Socks? Yes socks! I’m not talking same-old-same-old black socks. If you’re going for socks, then make it something quirky like these from FEAT. sock. co. Under R500: My personal favourite on this list is a super trendy iPhone or Samsung phone cover by Houdt. They’ll make any dad look instantly cool. Under R1000: Previously known as Nomad, Crabtree & Evelyn Moroccan Myrrh Cologne (R900 for 100ml) has been renamed & repackaged, but is still the lovely fragrance that it used to be.
