It’s the middle of November. When did this happen? Phew. I feel like we’ve skipped three months this year. Is anyone else with me?

Well, we’re here now & November means get-togethers, so I don’t mind the skipped months at all! Hosting season is just incredible, but let’s face it – everyone is tired but also desperate for some quality time with friends.

I want my get-togethers to be beautiful, easy, memorable & delicious all at the same time. Without running around for days.

Here are some thoughts on setting a gorgeous table & keeping your get-togethers special with minimal stress:

Go with a color scheme. I love the pinks in this setting. It is soft & gentle & creates the perfect ambiance for an evening with my girlfriends. When I saw the pink peopnies & the seasonal berries, I just had to add them to this tablescape. Monochrome always works well. Then add seasonal flowers & seasonal fruit to your table – it’s always a winner.

Be smart about the decor. When I first came across Host The Event I couldn’t actually believe that something this awesome didn’t exist sooner! They are an amazing small South African business that is the absolute epitome of comfort & style. You simply go to their website, select the look that you like for 4 to 20 people & order it. Then the entire boxed tablescape arrives. Packed & ready for you to use. All you have to do is add your flowers & play around with the setting. It doesn’t get much easier than this. And you don’t even have to return everything washed. They take care of that too. Amazing, right?

I used the Fired Earth look here.

(This is not a sponsored post – I just love to support local. Try them – you’ll love them!)

Prioritize the people, not the effort.  Naturally, we all want to make an effort with our loved ones, but getting together is about the company, not the glamour. If your table is set beautifully, you are 60% there.

Share the menu load. Not all etiquette gurus will agree on this, but having a bring & eat (pot luck?) meal is the way to go. With food prices being high & most people being overworked this time of year, it just makes sense. We have a need for connection, that’s all. If you have 10 girlfriends coming over & each brings something, you have a feast & nobody is overworked. Just perfect.

Keep it minimal. Less is more if you want to create a stylish table. I love my steel table top, so in summer I don’t cover it (the steel is very cold in winter). Also – less laundry.

Cheers to a beautiful hosting season. May your tables be beautiful & may you have meaningful get-togethers with people that you love.

Thanx to Dominique from Hello Love Photography for these incredible images.

Ps. The week that I did the shoot for this table was very busy, so I didn’t actually have a chance to sit down & host anyone around this gorgeous table. What a pity. Can’t wait to do this soon!
