I cannot wait to tell you about our amazing evening out on Sunday at The Residence in Houghton right here in Jozi.
The setting is absolutely amazing for couples who need time out, but don’t have days to get away from the city. It was perfect for us because we are really keen for some rest, but our holiday is still two weeks away. One whole evening of relaxing & pampering was just perfect. Somehow it reminded me of being on honeymoon & also felt a bit like our holiday in Zanzibar…
But before I get carried away, here’s what you need to know:

What?
We had the Moonlight Spa Package (offered from 6pm-9pm) on any night of the week. The spa also offers a variety of day-time treatments. And if you really want to go all out, you can even book a stay in the hotel for a night or two or three.
What makes it so fabulous?
A rooftop spa exclusively booked for you & your plus one. With VIP service. With views. With food & drinks. Need I say more?
What to expect…
On arrival at 6 pm, you get shown up to the spa (which is on the 3rd-floor rooftop terrace). After changing into your robe, you relax in the jacuzzi with floating Bougainvillea flowers & a glass of bubbly in hand as you watch the beautiful Jozi sky.
Next is the Welcoming Foot Ritual of a foot wash & scrub while you sip on some delicious tea (we had Rooibos & Vanilla).
Then the main event of the evening follows; a 60-minute full body his & hers massage. I was in the capable hands of Veronica & Ernie’s massage was done by Thabiso. I chose the Baobab Massage Oil which is rich in anti-oxidants; he preferred the Marula (great for hydration).
What is really amazing is the fact that you have real privacy & for a man who is not completely used to or comfortable with lounging around in his robe, this intimate setting is ideal. The therapists are so professional & manage to set the perfect tone for a really chilled evening.
As we walked out of the massage room, the sun had set. Lamps & candles were already burning & our wine & beer was waiting for us along with our delicious picnic platter dinner.
As if all of this deliciousness was not enough, we got to indulge in a dessert of chocolate brownies, cream & strawberries. The evening ended on a really wonderful note with a destressing foot massage (done with coconut oil & calabashes). Bliss!

Are unable to get out of Joburg OR those who are looking for a really special night out for two to relax or celebrate.
Take your other half, mom, sister or bestie for a most wonderful evening out. Believe me, you will feel like you’ve had a weekend away!
I must add though, that the price tag is rather steep (R2950 per couple for the night), but if you really want to be spoilt, have some cash, Euros, Dollars or Bitcoin, then make your booking right now!
The final verdict
This ladies & gentlemen is exactly my idea of a wonderful, pampering & super special night out. Can we do this every week? Pretty please?
