I love blogs. Possibly just as much as I love magazines. And if you know me, you will know how serious my magazine obsession is! Sometimes I enjoy the single-girl-getting-dressed-up-&-wear-make-up-all-day-fashionista-bikini-body kind of blogs.

But that is just not my life anymore. My life is a bit more, um, diverse or real these days. I subsequently also read blogs that I can relate to. Real, beautiful, aspirational, blogs.

Make a cuppa, pull up a chair & enjoy my list of (current) Favorite Proudly South African Lady blogs:

Lucky Pony

Before moving back to Jozi after our sabbatical in 2011, I was reading about Wolves Café everywhere & simply had to check it out. Then when we found our perfect apartment it was right across the road from Wolves. Total coincidence. Ha. It became my coffice on many days & I loved every minute.

Why am I telling you all this? Because of the (then) owner & creative mind behind Wolves, Angie Batis Durrant. She’s a super entrepreneur, mom & blogger who inspires me so much. I mostly adore all her recipes – especially this one. And then there’s her new “Tastes Like Nice” series with her little girl. Too cute.

Lanalou Style

If you love visual gems from in & around Cape Town, then look no further than Lana Kenney’s delightfully curated blog. She manages to find & capture the most amazing homes, spaces & other beautifully creative things.

I also happened to meet Lana some time ago for blog advice & I was so impressed by how kind, down-to-earth yet knowledgeable she is. Her travel bits & décor posts really make me want to pack my bags & explore more of Cape Town & surrounds, but at the same time stay home & decorate!

Ask Ashe

I so enjoy popping in (online) at Ask Ashe every now & then to see what this Durban blogger & brand consultant is sharing. Nicola Ashe‘s interior inspirations (like this one & this) & style is right up my alley. She also does monthly lineups of markets & stuff to do in Durbs so if you are stuck for ideas of things to do then check Ask Ashe out.

9 Lives

9 Lives is the amazing handiwork of Liezel Malherbe who is making the most of her one life. She posts super regularly but still remains authentic & interesting with every single post. That takes some doing. Believe me.

I love & admire how she makes things real & accessible. Also, if you’re looking for the best things to do or yummiest places to eat in the Western Cape or beauty tips & product reviews, head on over to 9 Lives right now.

With Relish

I’ve only recently discovered With Relish & I fell in love with the absolutely gorgeous recipes, not to mention the fun & easy DIY. Can’t wait to see more posts by Danielle le Chat – the lady in charge.

Lovilee

This wonderful blog by Karen Kelly gets me so amped to tackle more creative projects. And last week I was so excited because I happened to meet Karen (twice) & I realized why her blog is so lovilee; because she is as calm, relaxed & inspiring in real life as her blog full of wonderful weddings, decor, DIY & all round creative inspiration.

Becoming You

The only real mommy blog that made it onto this list is Kathryn Rossiter. And once you’ve been to Becoming You, you will realise that this lady needs a cape because she is basically superwoman. She a wife & mom of two kids, recently renovated her entire house & has a morning job but she still manages to run this super successful blog. You will find parenting advice, beauty bit & lots of travel over here.

La Belle Blog

The gal behind La Belle Blog is Candice Bresler. She has been blogging for over seven years & has taking fantastic pics & writing awesome posts down to a T. But what I admire Candice most for is that she is a really stylish lady with a positive body image who does not fit into size 6 jeans! I especially loved this post

Rita Hello

Meet Rita-Mari Ludike: lover of design, art, fashion & home-maker from Pretoria. She also loves eating (a lot) like me, so although we’ve never met I’m sure we’ll get along like besties.

Rita’s is an art director & photographer & sees her blog as an online journal. She tastefully puts together the things that she loves, so go on & take a stroll through Rita Hello.

Tails Of A Mermaid

You might not want to check out Tails Of A Mermaid If travel envy is a real for you. Why? Simply because Natalie Roos is the queen of travel & she visits unbelievably amazing local & international destinations on a very regular basis. Think Iceland, Reunion Island, (the real) Paris, Australia, Franschhoek, Durban & many more – all in one year! #TravelGoals

I also love that she often appears in her travel photos looking so stylish.  I’m so envious, yet so addicted to her posts because no matter how glam her life looks, she is a down-to-earth real girl.

That’s a wrap for now. I’ll share more amazing blogs with you in the near future.

Let me know by leaving a comment: which South African blogs do you follow & love?

Enjoy the week. Mwah!

Yolandi ♥
