When the very first Christmas decorations started appearing in the shops this year, I strolled into a Typo store & there it was: Mickey & Minnie Mouse XMas ornaments. And mini Coca-Cola can ornaments! It was a lightbulb moment for me! I could see this theme come alive in my mind.
If you are looking to create an unusual Christmas look,Β then I really hope that this post will inspire you. It’s all about nostalgia, sweetness, movie nights, carefree holidays, games, laughter & old-fashioned fun. Can you tell that I’m loving this theme even more as I’m typing this?
I created a simple Minnie Mouse-inspired wreath by twirling black Christmas tinsel around a wooden embroidery hoop, then added a red bow that I got at a party shop.
For added Mickey magic, I printed tiny golden vinyl Mickey heads with my CriCut machine & stuck these onto white matt Christmas baubles.
As for my themed outfit: the Coca-Cola hat was gifted to Oliver by a friend & I wore my favourite Minnie Mouse sweater (many years ago from Pick n Pay clothing).
I would strongly recommend that you create a menu along this theme too. Start with little glass bottles of Coca-Cola & Coke Zero. How about the roast cooked in Coca-Cola? My aunt used to make it when we were growing up. It might sound odd to you if you have never done it before, but the Coke helps to tenderize the roast & to add delicious flavour along with herbs & aromatics. The Mickey Mouse-themed biscuits are also really fun to make too – these are simple sugar biscuits with royal icing. My friend Karen was kind enough to print this Mickey Cookie Cutter with her 3D printer, but you should be able to find one online too.
Thank you for visiting. Have yourself a Merry Mousy Christmas.
