In case you haven’t noticed: botanicals are having a really big moment & I love love love it. This was also the theme at the POETRYSS17 Launch event that I attended a while ago. What is great about this trend is that it is easy to incorporate – on a small scale or in a massive way in many areas of your life.
Here are some local options to choose from for your home & wardrobe:
FOR YOUR HOME:
For a hint of greenhouse: Introduce greenery or plants in your home. I’ve noticed that flower shops & even Woolies now sell large leaves (like Delicious Monsters). Or get a playful tray from aLoveSupreme, the pink & green Wild Wisteria Platter, or personalised notebook with a botanical theme from Macaroon.
Serious, but still subtle: Why not opt for a botanical print, leaf wall art or some scatters (like the ones from here or here). If you’re feeling creative, use the Jungle Bungalow DIY fabric squares from Skinny Laminx to make your very own throw, table cloth or scatter.
Statement: An entire wall or an outdoor plantation rug from Hertex will make a real statement.
IN YOUR WARDROBE:
A subtle botanical twist: An easy way to update your look is to add a scarf from Poetry or this adorable pair of shoes from Zando.
Safe but stylish: You can’t go wrong with a cami or tank top (like this one from Old Khaki) under a jacket.
