True story: when I was at varsity (& staying in residence) I used to make sure that I’m not wearing my newest pair of shoes whenever I saw my mother. The reason being that I used to buy so many pairs of shoes that I was a bit embarrassed about it!

Ok, I’m not proud of this. Please forgive me mom. (In my defence: I always had a student job, so I was paying for the shoes…. um… mostly with my own cash.)

Anyway. The reason that I am telling you this is that over the last five years, my work-from-home-mom-wardrobe became rather minimalist & much more compact than my wardrobes of eras past. A sort-of capsule wardrobe if you like. And I also have a limited selection of shoes these days.

The shopper in me is not dead though. And if I had a BitCoin for every hour that I’ve spent browsing Superbalist over the last few years, I will now be a kazillionaire. My recent Superbalist online shoe (window) shopping was almost exclusively focussed on shoes! This reminded me why I love buying & wearing shoes so so much.

But now that I’m once again getting ready for more (office based) work, I would say that some shoe shopping is in order, right? And so I’ve really been doing lots of online & real life shoe hunting & decided to share my short list of winter shoes with you. Some are practical. Some super impractical & others just for fun!

BOOTS

How about these Paisley MADISON® boots (R699)I love the embroidered florals on the faux suede.  Perfect to give an all-black outfit a real high street kind of edge.

Not sure if I’ll actually have the guts to wear these Feather Trim Peeptoe Shoe Boots (R799), but they are certainly loads of fun!

Nothing says “Look At Me” quite like Leopard print, right? I’ve recently thrown out my leopard print pumps, so I think that they should be replaced by these Leopard boots by DAILYFRIDAY (R499). Such beauties.

And then ALDO, once again, has me smitten with their Huffington Boots (R1999) in Beige. I love everything about it – the colour, the heel, the zip & mostly the ribbon detail that wraps around the ankle!

SNEAKERS

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be walking around in sneakers every other day, I would have rolled my eyes. But, mom-life happened & so for the first time in my life, I own three pairs of sneakers! I am still not a jeans & takkies kind of girl, but stylish sneakers with a frock or leggings get the thumbs up from me.

Sneakers need to be comfy & practical, but I really also like it when they make a bit of a statement. Like these three…

I already have a pair of goldish sneakers, so a pair of Silver Distressed Metallic Leather SUPERGA sneakers (R1399) just seems right.

These brown-gold Princess Embossed Suede sneakers by REEBOK (R1199) are just that: good enough for a princess.

And finally, I’m about to drool on my keyboard as I’m typing this. All because of these babies:

They are the retro-inspired Reebok F/S HI Metallic (R1299) metallic high-tops! I’m bedazzled.

Let me know. Which is your favourite? All or none?

Yolandi ♥
