I’m no model & this is no fashion blog. Anything but.

But I love to get dressed up. And I am a huge fan of shopping & supporting local brands. I’ve never been a jeans girl. I don’t even own a pair of jeans at the moment.  Rather give me a frock. I love me a pretty, but comfortable frock!

And so I decided to show you my favourite dresses. Mostly because I have these stunning pics* & because I need to get over myself.

The thing is that I am just not comfortable in my current body which made me so nervous to have these pics taken in the first place. I actually told myself that I am pretty sure that I will look awful in the images & that I will simply not be able to use them. A rather silly thought if you consider that I paid for the shoot & went through all the trouble of actually having photos of me taken.

I considered for a while to source new outfits for the shoot, but in the end, I took my four favourite dresses along on the day of the shoot & I am glad I did!

Times are crazy, which means we can all do unconventional things. In my case, it is a post with pictures of only me. Yikes. And in light of us supporting local & our favourite SA designers, here I am modeling my favourite dresses. All four of these dresses are older than six months but they still give me such joy every time I wear them.

White Shirt Dress, Jane Sews

*Unfortunately Jane Sews no longer makes & sells clothes, which I am very sad about.

A white shirt dress is such a versatile piece & in the many years that I’ve had this frock, it has been my go-to dress for so many events & outings.

Marianna Willow Tear Dress in Animal Print from The Space

I love this dress just as much today as I did when I bought it. I love the print so so much. The shoes are from Cotton On.

My T.O. (Throw On) dress by Anmari Honiball

This is by far my favourite dress of the moment. I pair it with  platforms from Pick n Pay Clothing & the look is complete. The dress is so comfortable & it is great for my ego because I always get compliments when I wear it! I bought mine at the Linden Co-Op. Anmari Honiball’s clothes are also available at @convoyshop & online.

Earthaddict Shirt Dress

Yup, yet another shirt dress. This ochre cotton one is from Earthaddict.

Tell me: are you a frock or pants type of lady? And where do you buy your favourite items in your wardrobe?

Yolandi ♥

*In case you’re wondering, these pictures were taken in February during my branding shoot at the gorgeous Culture Barn by Tam from Tyme Photography. Culture Barn is a beautiful studio space is light & beautiful, but Dylan & Tam are so stunning. Erin Smylie did my make-up & there I was, doing a real shoot. The last one that I did was five years ago & before that about 12 years ago on our wedding day.
