Valentine’s Day is only a few nights away. And if Valentine’s is not your thing, why not host a Galentine’s Day get-together for your friends on 13 February?

Setting a really special table for your favourite girls will surely make them feel appreciated & special.

My chosen colour scheme is pink, rose gold, gold & white. Very feminine & classy indeed.

Having fresh flowers on a dinner table is amazing, but it’s no secret that fresh flowers become crazy expensive just before Valentine’s.

The solution: use artificial (plastic or silk) flowers instead. I did include some fresh flowers on this table too, but only about two or three in total.

What I love about using artificial flowers for a centrepiece is:

  • You can set your table as long in advance as you like & the flowers won’t wilt. February is a scorcher in Johannesburg & most flowers simply don’t last in this heat.
  • You won’t have any waste as the artificial flowers can be used over & over again on tables, in vases & even to decorate gifts or for flower crowns.
  • They create a talking point because your guests might not believe how classy a centrepiece looks with artificial flowers.

You will have noticed that I even added a few gold XMas baubles to the centre piece. I’m the biggest XMas fan, so I reckon that a bit of XMas bling here was appropriate. Along with the gold cutlery, underplates & lights on the table, the table really looks luxurious & welcoming.

You can style a table in so many ways, but in case you feel stuck, here is how I did it:

I placed a gold runner on a white table cloth. The great thing about the artificial flowers is that they can be placed directly onto the table (which eliminates the need for vases).

This is a win, because you can keep the centrepiece abundant but still low enough that it doesn’t obstruct the view of guests trying to chat.

It is a good idea to place your large items on the table first & then fill in the areas in between. Strings of lights or candles finish off the table perfectly.

Personalise each place with a name, a hand-written letter or a small gift (even biscuits or chocolates) in a special box for an extra specia touch.

I hope you are inspired to add some artificial flowers to your table settings & if you do, be sure to tag @azestylife on Instagram so I can see how you did it!

Thank you for visiting. Cheers to a flower-filled Galentine’s (& Valentine’s).
